What are multichannel outreach tools?
Multichannel outreach tools are sales engagement apps that combine LinkedIn actions and cold email, and sometimes calls, SMS and WhatsApp, in one automated sequence. Steps can branch on what a prospect does, such as accepting an invitation or opening an email, and all replies land in one inbox.
The category splits into two approaches:
- Email-first platforms started as cold email tools and added LinkedIn steps. They lead on deliverability, mailbox warm-up and lead data. Lemlist and Reply.io fit here.
- LinkedIn-first platforms started with LinkedIn automation and added email as a fallback channel. Skylead is the clearest example, with sequences that switch to email when a lead does not accept a connection request.
If you only need LinkedIn, a dedicated LinkedIn automation tool is usually simpler and cheaper.
How to choose a multichannel outreach tool
1. Your main channel
Decide whether email or LinkedIn drives most of your replies. Email-first tools have deeper deliverability features. LinkedIn-first tools have richer LinkedIn actions and conditions.
2. Cross-channel conditions
Look for branches such as "if connected", "if email verified" and "if email opened". These let a sequence move a lead to the channel that responds instead of running two parallel campaigns.
3. Deliverability tooling
Check for mailbox warm-up, multiple sender addresses, random sending delays and automatic pauses when bounce rates rise.
4. How LinkedIn is connected
Some tools run LinkedIn from the cloud through a proxy in your country. Others rely on a Chrome extension session. This affects both convenience and account risk.
5. Lead data and email finding
A built-in database or email finder saves a separate subscription. Check how credits work and how many come with your plan.
6. What the price really includes
LinkedIn automation, dialers, enrichment and AI agents are often add-ons. Price a full seat with the channels you will actually use.
7. CRM sync
Two-way sync with HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive keeps activity from both channels on one contact record.

| LinkedIn-first teams that fall back to email | "If connected" and "if email verified" branches, email finder in the sequence | Skylead |
| Teams sending from many inboxes | Unlimited email accounts per seat, no per-mailbox fees | Skylead |

Deliverability and LinkedIn safety
Multichannel tools carry two kinds of risk: your email domain's reputation and your LinkedIn account's standing. Good tools help with both, but your settings decide most of the outcome.
Protecting email deliverability
- Warm up every mailbox. Lemlist includes lemwarm on all plans, Reply.io includes free peer-to-peer warm-up for each connected mailbox, and Skylead lists unlimited email warm-up on its All-in-one plan.
- Spread volume. Send from several inboxes and domains rather than pushing one mailbox hard. Skylead includes unlimited email accounts per seat. Lemlist's Multichannel plan allows 5 sender addresses per user.
- Verify addresses before sending. Bounces damage sender reputation. Reply.io automatically pauses a sequence's first step when its bounce rate crosses a daily threshold.
- Vary your copy. Spintax, custom variables and random delays help messages avoid looking identical to spam filters.
Protecting your LinkedIn account
LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow third-party software that automates activity on the site, so every tool here carries some restriction risk. Lemlist's help center recommends around 20 invitations, 30 profile visits and 30 messages per day for healthy accounts. Reply.io defaults to 30 actions per action type per day. Skylead routes activity through a proxy in the country you choose. Lemlist and one of Reply.io's connection methods rely on a Chrome extension session, which ties LinkedIn activity to your browser.
Pricing: what to expect
Multichannel tools usually charge per user or seat, and the LinkedIn channel is not always included. Based on the pricing pages covered in our reviews (checked October 2026):
- Lemlist: the Multichannel plan, which you need for LinkedIn, costs $109 per month or $87 billed yearly. The email-only plan starts at $55 per month billed yearly.
- Reply.io: the Multichannel plan is $89 per user per month billed annually or $99 monthly. LinkedIn automation costs $69 per account and the dialer $29 per account on top, so one full seat is about $197 per month on monthly billing.
- Skylead: the All-in-one plan is $100 per seat per month and includes one LinkedIn account, unlimited email accounts and email finding. AI enrichment and the AI SDR are add-ons.
- AI SDR tiers: Reply.io's Jason AI starts at $500 per month billed annually.
Free trials run 7 to 14 days. Budget separately for enrichment credits, extra mailboxes or domains, and Sales Navigator. Check our deals page for current offers.
Mistakes to avoid
- Sending cold email from your main company domain without warm-up.
- Comparing headline prices without adding LinkedIn, dialer and credit add-ons.
- Running LinkedIn and email steps on the same day with the same message.
- Choosing an email-first tool when most of your replies come from LinkedIn, or the reverse.
- Letting an AI agent send messages without an approval step at the start.
- Connecting one LinkedIn profile to two automation tools.
- Skipping email verification, which raises bounce rates and hurts deliverability.
